What was it?
In June 2025, Kestrel delivered their signature IGNITE project at HMP Pentonville. Working across five days with two directors (pictured), playwright and a producer, a group of eight men worked together to create an original performance, performed on the final Friday.
They created If The Bench Could Speak, a moving piece about seeking connection and reassurance, seen through the prism of a series of encounters between strangers, friends and family members meeting on a bench.
They performed to prison staff, including Governor Simon Drysdale, external Kestrel guests and other invited prisoners.
