A New Chapter for Kestrel …

We are so proud to share that Jason York is our new Artistic Director following the extraordinary leadership of Eleanor Henderson. Jason has been part of Kestrel for several years, most recently as Lead Associate Artist, working alongside Eleanor to create theatre that connects, empowers and transforms - in prisons and beyond.

Jason said: ‘Working with El has been one of the most inspiring and formative experiences of my career. I’ve learned so much from her vision and care, and I’m so excited for the future of Kestrel and our community. As an actor as well as Kestrel’s new Artistic Director, I really want to champion the incredible often unseen talent we come across - to give people the space to make work, to be recognised for it, and to tell their own stories rather than have others define them’.

We’re so grateful to Eleanor for everything that sge has brought to Kestrel - her artistry, compassion and belief in what’s possible. Here’s to continuing the journey routed in creativity, courage and community.
